 Since 2010 this flag has been used to represent Asexuality, it was designed to be something that could include everyone. This simple, four-bar design was chosen as it avoided any unwanted symbols, connotations or national affiliation. It also fits in with the striped designs of most other GSM pride flags.

The four colours all have meanings:

• Black: Asexuality.
• Grey: Grey-Asexuality and Demisexuality.
• White: Non-asexual partners and allies.
• Purple: Community.
